Ashover Coach No 4 - Restoration Appeal Launched

The GVLR has launched an appeal to raise the funds required to purchase all the materials needed to restore Ashover Coach No 4.

Items range in size from 2 x 30ft lengths of timber for the under-frame and 2 bogies for the carriage to sit on, right down to a large quantity of nails to affix the new matchwood sides.

If you would like to support the Appeal, you could make a "one off" donation or you could join the Ashover "100" club. If 100 supporters sign up to donate £10-00 plus Gift Aid per quarter for a period of 3 years, our initial target is assured.

So - for the price of a pint and a half of beer each month, you could help to restore this historic coach.

Please support this very worthwhile cause.

So how can you help?

By Volunteering:- we plan to hold regular monthly working parties from this Autumn onwards. New volunteers will be made very welcome.

By donating:-donations of any amount can be made at any time over the lifetime of the project.

Please send single donations by cheque or money order made payable to:- MRT Narrow Gauge Shed / Coach with a completed "Gift Aid" form to the address below.

Subscribers to the Ashover "100" Club should fill in the attached Standing Order form and Gift Aid form. Please send the completed Standing Order form to your own bank. Please send the completed Gift Aid form to the address below (so that we know where to send Newsletters, open day invitations etc). Subscriptions made with Gift Aid received before 31/03/08 will be particularly beneficial as the current higher rate of tax recovery will apply.

You are also welcome to visit the Running Shed at any time it is open to view progress on the coach. The Shed is usually open most weekends and public holidays (except for Xmas Day).

The GVLR has a proven record of delivering major projects on time and to budget, the new Running Shed being the latest example. With your help, and an estimated 2,500 hours of voluntary labour from our members, Ashover Coach No 4 will soon be carrying passengers once more.
