The GVLR are offering Footplate Experience Days in Derbyshire.
See a NG railway from a different perspective, the footplate of our resident steam locomotive O&K7529.
The day starts with a safety briefing, after which you will light the fire in the firebox and raise steam. When the boiler has reached working pressure, you will shunt the loco out on to the maim line for some light engine runs, to get a feel of the locomotive.
When you feel confident, you will hook up the coaches, which will make you and the loco work!
