Pearl 2 light engine New for 2005 will be two locomotives that have recently arrived at the GVLR from the Museum of Army Transport at Beverley. 20/28 Simplex 4w DM MR8667/41 "Tubby" and 20HP Ruston 4wDM RH191646/38 "Lyddia" will get there first public running on the GVLR hauling a consist of the railways ex MOD stock.

Allen Civil's 0-4-2 IST "Pearl 2" is planned to haul all five passenger trains on both days. The loco has a standard Bagnall "6in" boiler pressed to 160psi giving 2000lb tractive effort. She weighs around 6 tons in full working order. She was built new in 1997 and arrived from the Amerton Railway, Stowe-by-Chartley, Staffordshire in 2003.
