This 12 tonne diesel hydraulic loco was built by Hunslet in 1994. It is powered by a six cylinder 88hp Deutz F6L912W air cooled engine. It was one of a batch of tunnelling locos built to work on the construction of the Jubilee Line Extension.
The airbrake system is being modified, so that she can haul our passenger trains. Drawings for a new cab have been produced and this will be built as soon as resources become available.
The loco has been completely stripped of her ex works white paint and
large quantities of concrete she acquired whilst working on the
construction of the Jubilee Line. In its place she has received two
coats of red lead, soon to be followed by a new colour scheme.
LD9351 has no springs in her buffers; so to give a pleasant ride to our visitors, a large portable coupling with springs in, is being constructed, to connect the loco to our passenger stock.
